
On 28th November 2022‘Harimau Shakti -2022’, the annual joint military exercise between India and Malaysia, commenced on 28th November 2022, at Pulai, Kluang, Malaysia. the exercise will culminate on 12th December 2022.
- Harimau Shakti has been held between the Indian and Malaysian Army since 2012.
- The joint exercise will enhance the level of defence co-operation between the Indian Army and the Malaysian Army, and foster the bilateral relations between India and Malaysia.
Aim: To enhance interoperability in the planning and execution of various operations in jungle terrain.
Key highlights:
i.Participants – Combat-experienced troops of the Garhwal Rifles Regiment of Indian Army and the Royal Malay Regiment of the Malaysian Army will participate in the exercise for the year 2000.
ii.Both armies would share experiences gained during operations for enhancing interoperability in planning and execution of various operations in jungle terrain.

i.A joint command post and joint surveillance centre will be established during this exercise.
ii.The schedule of this joint exercise also includes sharing expertise in the employment of aerial assets, technical demonstrations, casualty management & casualty evacuation apart from planning logistics at the Battalion level. - ii.It also includes joint field training exercises, joint combat discussions and joint demonstrations and a special emphasis on enhancing tactical skills and interoperability between the two forces and to promote Army to Army relations.
