The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar invites online applications for direct recruitment to the post of Laboratory Assistant (Research) – Class-3 under the control of the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpsar Department (Gujarat Engineering Research Office).

Pay & Service
Selected candidates will be appointed on probation and initially placed on a fixed monthly pay (consolidated) for the first five years as per government orders 26,000/-, thereafter regular pay scale as per Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200) on confirmation. Other allowances/benefits as per rules.
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary (Science stream) OR qualifications as specified in the notification.
- Basic computer knowledge is required.
- Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years (age relaxations applicable as per rules).
Application & Fee
- Apply online only via OJAS Portal between 06 Sep and 20 Sep 2025.
- Fill personal & educational details carefully, upload photograph & signature as per specifications, then Confirm Application to generate Confirmation Number. Keep it safe.
- Pay the examination fee online through OJAS before the declared last date. Fee payment is mandatory; applications without fee will be rejected.
Exam Pattern & Selection Process
The competitive examination will be a single-stage MCQ (CBRT/OMR) test comprising Part-A and Part-B. Total marks and detailed syllabus (Annexure-I) are provided in the notification. Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification on the basis of merit and qualifying standards. Final selection will be made based on merit and category rules.
Special Provisions
- Reservations and age relaxations for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS, ex-servicemen, women, PWD and other categories as per rules.
- Provision for scribe / compensatory time is available for PwD candidates as per the Board’s guidelines.
- Sportspersons may get additional marks as per government orders (if applicable).
