GSSSB Junior Pharmacist Syllabus 2025 – (Advt. No. 321/2025-26)
The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has published the detailed syllabus for the Gsssb Junior Pharmacist syllabus (Class-3) competitive examination (Advt. 321/2025-26). Below is the complete syllabus as per the official notification.
Exam Structure (Total Marks: 210)
The exam is divided into two parts:
- Part A – Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks) + Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks) = 60 Marks
- Part B – General Knowledge / Constitution / Current Affairs / Language Comprehension + Professional subjects related to Pharmacy = 150 Marks
PART A (60 Marks)
1) Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 Questions — 30 Marks)

PART B (150 Marks)
- Part B contains General topics and extensive professional pharmacy subjects. Questions related to the candidate’s educational qualification (pharmacy) form the largest part (120 questions / 120 marks).
1) Constitution of India (10 Questions — 10 Marks)
- Preamble, Fundamental Rights & Duties
- Directive Principles of State Policy
- Role & powers of President, Vice-President, Governor
- Parliamentary system, amendment procedure, emergency provisions
- Centre–State relations, judicial system, constitutional bodies
2) Current Affairs (10 Questions — 10 Marks)
- State, national & international important events
3) Comprehension (Gujarati 5 marks & English 5 marks) — 10 Questions / 10 Marks
Assess comprehension, interpretation & inference skills — paragraph based questions in Gujarati and English as specified.
4) Questions Related to Educational / Technical Qualification (120 Questions — 120 Marks)

- Pathophysiology: Cell injury, inflammation & repair, diseases of cardiac, respiratory, renal, hepatic, hematological, endocrine & nervous systems, basics of cancer & infectious diseases.
- Physical Pharmaceutics: Solubility, pH & buffers, colloids, rheology, drug stability, micromeritics.
- Pharmaceutical Microbiology: Microbial morphology, staining, culture methods, sterilization, aseptic techniques, sterility testing, microbial assays, contamination & preservation.
- Medicinal Chemistry: Drug classes, SAR, mechanism of action of major therapeutic groups (antibiotics, antivirals, antimalarials, antihypertensives, antineoplastics, endocrine drugs, etc.).
- Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry: Plant products, secondary metabolites, extraction, identification and quality control of natural drugs.
- Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence: Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, NDPS Act, RTI, IPR, NPPA, Code of Pharmaceutical Ethics, prevention of cruelty to animals.
Language & Question Format Notes
- Part-A
- questions will be available in both Gujarati and English.
- Part-B
- language rules: general & constitution/current affairs questions will appear in Gujarati & English.
- Gujarati comprehension will be in Gujarati only.
- English comprehension in English only.
- Professional subject questions will be available in both Gujarati & English.
Marking Scheme & Important Instructions
- If any question is cancelled in provisional answer key and removed in final answer key, marks for the cancelled question will be redistributed pro-rata among remaining questions in that topic as per the Board’s rule.
- Negative marking: For incorrect answers, 1/4th of the marks assigned (where pro-rata marking was applied) will be deducted as penalty.
- Candidates must follow official instructions and announcements; the Board reserves the right to modify the syllabus or exam scheme.
