The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has released a notification for direct recruitment to the post of Fireman-cum-Driver (Class-3) under the control of the Urban Development & Urban Housing Department. A total of 13 vacancies have been notified.

Eligibility (Key Points)
- Educational: Passed Higher Secondary (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry & English (or equivalent) as specified in the notification.
- Must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence.
- Possess relevant Fireman / Driver training certificate from recognized institution.
- Basic computer knowledge and working knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
- Age: 18 to 33 years (relaxations as per rules).
Physical Standards
Minimum height, chest and weight standards are prescribed separately for male & female candidates and for candidates from Gujarat region/other areas. Medical fitness (RMO certificate) is mandatory. candidates with specified disqualifying conditions will be declared unfit. Check the notification for exact measurements.
Pay & Service Conditions
Selected candidates will be appointed initially on a fixed consolidated pay (first five years) pay Rs. 26,000/- and after satisfactory service will be placed on Level-2 pay scale (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200) as per government orders.
Application Procedure (How to Apply)
- Visit https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in and go to Online Application → Apply → GSSSB.
- Select Advertisement 347/2025-26 – Fireman-cum-Driver (Class-3) and click Apply now.
- Fill Personal & Educational details, accept the Assurance, save and note the generated Confirmation Number.
- Upload photograph and signature as per specifications (photo ~ 5.0 cm × 3.6 cm; signature ~ 2.5 cm × 7.5 cm; JPG format and size limits).
- Pay the examination fee online (Debit Card / Netbanking / UPI / Wallet). Keep receipt/e-print of fee payment.

Exam Pattern & Selection Process
The competitive exam will be a single-stage MCQ type (CBRT/OMR) divided into two parts:
- Part-A: Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks) + Quantitative (30 marks) = 60 Marks.
- Part-B: Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English comprehension (30 marks) + Technical/subject related questions relevant to qualification (120 marks) = 150 Marks.
- Total: 210 marks; Total time 3 hours (180 minutes). Negative marking: ¼ mark penalty for wrong answers.
Fee & Refund
Exam fee must be paid online before the last date. As per the notification, fees will be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the examination (details & category wise fee in official notice).

- Keep originals of all certificates (educational, category, driving licence, training certificate, photo ID) ready for verification.
- One Time Registration (OTR) on OJAS helps but is not the same as submitting the application for this advertisement.
