The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has released the detailed syllabus for the post of Laboratory Technician, Class-III (SRD) under Advertisement No. 299/2025-26.
The examination will consist of Part A (60 Marks) and Part B (150 Marks). Below is the structured syllabus.
Exam Pattern
Part A :- Reasoning & Data Interpretation + Quantitative Aptitude = 60 Mark
Part B :- Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Comprehension (Gujarati & English), Technical Subjects (120)= 150 Mark
Part A – 60 Marks
- Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 Questions, 30 Marks)

- Directive Principles of State Policy
- President, Vice President, Governor — Roles & Powers
- Parliamentary System, Amendments, Emergency Provisions
- Judiciary, Centre-State Relations, Constitutional Bodies
- Current Affairs (10 Questions, 10 Marks) – State, National & International importance
- Comprehension (10 Questions, 10 Marks) – Gujarati (5) + English (5)
- Technical Subjects (120 Questions, 120 Marks)

- Anatomy (20 Marks) – Tissues, Skeletal system, Muscular, Digestive, Respiratory, Circulatory, Nervous, Urinary, Reproductive, Sensory organs, Endocrine system, Histology, Embalming, Museum techniques, Dissection hall, Medico-legal basics.
- Physiology (10 Marks) – Blood composition, Muscle/Nerve physiology, Cardiovascular, Excretory, Digestive, Special senses, CNS, Respiratory, Endocrine, Reproductive system.
- Biochemistry (20 Marks) – Lab safety, Solutions, Sample collection, Colorimetry, Spectrophotometry, Auto analyzers, Enzymes, Carbohydrate/Protein/Lipid chemistry, Clinical tests, Lipid profile.
- Pharmacology (05 Marks) – General pharmacology, ANS, CNS, CVS drugs, GIT, Respiratory, Endocrine, Chemotherapy, Vaccines, Experimental pharmacology, Dispensing pharmacy.
- Pathology (20 Marks) – Hematology (blood count, hemoglobin, smears), Urine/stool examination, Histopathology (fixation, staining), Cytology, Autopsy techniques.
- Microbiology (20 Marks) – Bacteria morphology, Staining (Gram, ZN, etc.), Culture media, Sterilization, Normal flora, Sample collection, Isolation, Antibiotic sensitivity, Virology (HIV, Hepatitis, Dengue), Mycology, Parasitology.
- Current Trends & Recent Advances in the above fields.
Note:
Part A: Questions will be in Gujarati & English. Part B: Constitution & Current Affairs in Gujarati/English; Gujarati comprehension only in Gujarati; English comprehension only in English; Technical questions in both languages.
